WE’RE EDUCATING 1,000 UNDERSERVED CHILDREN BY 2034.
Background
According to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), 250 million children across the world, from early childhood to secondary education are currently out of school. Nigeria contributes 1 out of 5 of this alarming statistic, and is currently within the top 20 countries with the highest out of school population in the world. The challenges are varied – from insecurity and conflict, to funding challenges, poverty, and harmful sociocultural norms, over 20 million children between basic education and junior secondary level, are not enrolled in school across Nigeria, and the numbers continue to increase. Child education is a key aspect of national growth and development, and if not paid keen attention will have a negative ripple effect on all other aspects of societal growth.
About the Next Generation Foundation
Next Generation Foundation (NGF) is a philanthropic fund set up to contribute to the eradication of child neglect in Nigeria. It aims to contribute to the reduction of the out-of-school-children population, and positively impact the lives of orphans and vulnerable children by providing access to education, and promoting cross sectoral partnerships for education reform.
Our mission is to radically transform the quality of life of underserved and vulnerable children, using education as the primary instrument.
We’re working hard so that every underserved child has access to quality education, and a chance at a better life.
